Beatriz is a first year graduate student in the Couples and Family Therapy program at UNLV. She received her B.A. in psychology with a minor in neuroscience from UNLV as well. She is interested in researching microaggressions, sexual health, couples, and military. Some her achievements include receiving a Humanitarian Service Medal, serving in the Armed Forces Reserve in Poland, and getting on the Dean's Honor list. One fun fact about her is that she's tried dead crickets covered in salt and chili. She claimed that they were "quite earthy and good".
Beatriz Elizabeth Flores
Janelle is a third-year undergraduate student at UNLV. She is a Psychology major and Music minor. Her research interests focus on racial microaggressions, mental disorders, anxiety, adolescent/adult mental health, and counseling. Janelle’s professional goals include obtaining a Psy. D. and becoming a clinical psychologist with her own practice. In her free time, she plays the violin with the UNLV Honors College Chamber Ensemble. Fun fact, she has been a scuba diver since she was ten years old! On top of that, she has received co-authorship for posters presented at APS and APA. Janelle has also been on the Dean’s List every semester during her time at UNLV.
Janelle Ferraris
Aimy is currently in her 4th year at UNLV. She is an undergraduate who is majoring in Psychology. Her work focuses on racial identity, LGBTQ+ mental health, ADHD, cognition, youth/adolescent issues, and mental health equity. In her free time, she loves to crochet and does it nearly every day. She also plays the violin and practices with a small chamber ensemble in the Honors College. Along with this, she can speak both Spanish and Vietnamese. Finally, she looks forward to continuing to work on researching her honors thesis about multiracial identity and microaggressions that was funded by the the Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA).
Aimy Paulsen
Alexandra is a recent graduate of UNLV. She received her BA in Psychology in Spring of 2020. Her research interests include: addictions, anxiety disorder, stress, police psychology, forensic psychology, prison counseling, marriage and family therapy, substance abuse, Latinx community, and the LGBTQ+ community. In her downtime, she practices calligraphy and writes poetry. She also enjoys photography and loves to capture memories, especially at music festivals and concerts. Some of her greatest accomplishments at UNLV have been graduating on Dean’s Honor Roll in May 2020, receiving authorship on COVID-19 Poster Presentation at the AAPA Convention, and receiving authorship on COVID-19 Manuscript.
Alexandra Mendez
Currently in her 3rd year as an undergraduate at UNLV, Danielle is majoring in Business Administration Management, Real Estate, & Psychology. She enjoys working on research that focuses in substance abuse, video game disorder, developmental disorders, LGBTQ+ community, mental health, and counseling. Danielle also coaches an elementary girls’ basketball and track and field team. You could also find her playing video games, cooking, or embracing the great outdoors.

Danny is a 1st year graduate student, who is majoring in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNLV. He graduated with a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Nevada, Reno. His research interests are addictions, stress, video gaming disorder, gambling disorder, multicultural counseling, AAPI outcomes, PTSD, and military psychology. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies, attending music festivals, and trying new eateries!
Danny Phung
Jocelyne is Psychology major & Family Studies and Sociology minor at UNLV. She is a 4th year undergraduate student, who is interested in research that focuses on how microaggressions affect family dynamics and minority-targeted counseling, the effects of immigration on families, and the Latinx experiences in the United States. When she has downtime, she enjoys watching all things horror, spending time with family, and painting on mini canvases.

Jocelyne N. Giron
Currently in her 3rd undergraduate year at UNLV, Julissa is majoring in Psychology major & minoring in Criminal Justice. Her research interests include: substance abuse, gambling disorder, abnormal behavior, rehabilitation counseling, psychotic disorders, and mood disorders. One of her secret talents is being a nail-artist in disguise and in her downtime, she tries improving and building up her nail business. She is also guilty of binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy multiple times (as in more than twice & yes all 16 seasons).

Lianelys is in her 3rd year at UNLV as an undergraduate. She is a Psychology major, who is interested in research topics that focus on microaggressions (experienced by POC, more specifically Latinx individuals), discrimination, stress, resilience, and racial justice. One of the most interesting things about her is that she learned how to ride a bike when she was 18 years old. She was scared of falling, but now she loves it!

Lianelys C. Martinez
Ting is a 4th year undergraduate student at UNLV, she is majoring in Psychology. Her research interests include the assessment of human addictions and mood disorders both in the developmental stage and across the individual’s lifespan. She is also interested in identifying difficulties in the assessment, intervention, and help-seeking behaviors among the Asian communities. Her primary focus is to obtain a Ph.D. and to become a licensed clinical psychologist. Her professional goals are to either work as a practitioner in the area of assessing and treating mental illnesses or teach and conduct research at a university. In her spare time, she prefers cooking, reading, handcrafting, and swimming.
Ting Tong
Currently in his 4th undergraduate year at UNLV, Zerick is a Psychology major who is minoring in both Neuroscience and French. He is interested in research that focuses on neuroscience, behavioral studies, sociology, cognitive abilities and linguistics. He is also very interested in studying languages and social issues. An interesting fact about Zerick is that he is able to speak four other languages (Tagalog, Bisaya, French, Spanish). On top of this, he received co-authorship for a poster on Microaggressions and COVID-19 that recently got accepted to the AAPA convention and will be receiving co-authorship for the original paper that inspired it. In his free time he also enjoys studying music and play piano.

Brooklyn is a 4th year undergraduate student at UNLV. She is currently earning her BA in Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. Her research interest include: neuroscience, microaggressions, micro-assaults, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychotic disorders. When she has time, Brooklyn enjoys binging anime and playing video games. She also enjoys practicing her French and playing the piano. Her professional goals are to obtain a PhD in clinical psychology and become a practicing clinician. Along with this, she coauthored a paper on micro-assaults and the COVID-19 pandemic that was recently submitted to the SPECTRA journal.

Andrea is currently in her third year at UNLV. She is an undergraduate in Psychology who is minoring in Neuroscience. Generally, she is interested in research that focuses on addictions, microaggressions, the latinx community, fan culture, popular culture, behavior, and language. In her free time she likes to listen to K-pop and watch anime and Korean dramas. She also really enjoys anything related to true crime. In the spring of 2020, she made the Dean's honor roll list.
